A sturdy extra grip for carrying your SQA telescope
Why we like the SQA Series handle bar:
- Room for your hand: the bar stands 60mm (2.4") high, enough space for a gloved hand when you lift the telescope onto the mount.
- On and off in seconds: a thumb screw locks it in place with no tools, and the slotted locking grooves in the base let you lock it in more than one way.
- Doesn't slip: rubber pads under the base add grip, and the all-metal CNC-machined body feels solid.
- Worth knowing: it's for the SQA70, SQA85, SQA106 and SQA130, not the SQA55, which has its own SQA55 handle bar. Those telescopes already come with a handle on their tube rings, so this is an extra grip, not a replacement.
The Askar SQA Series Handle Bar is an optional all-metal handle for Askar's SQA astrographs. It attaches with a quick-release thumb screw through a standard finder-base fitting and gives 60mm of space under the bar. On the heavier SQA106 and SQA130, a second place to hold the telescope makes it easier to carry and to set on the mount saddle with both hands.

Askar SQA Series Handle Bar FAQ
My SQA already has a handle. Why add this one?
The SQA70, SQA85, SQA106 and SQA130 come with a handle on their tube rings. This bar adds a second grip, which helps most with the SQA106 at 8.1kg (17.9lb) and the SQA130 at 11.8kg (25.9lb), both with rings and plate, when you lift them onto the mount.
Does it fit the SQA55 or SQA60 Pro?
No. It's made for the SQA70, SQA85, SQA106 and SQA130. The SQA55 has its own quick-release handle bar, and the SQA60 Pro comes with a carry handle.
Do I need tools to fit it?
No. It locks with a thumb screw.
